Question
im getting a new hdtv soon and was wondering if i have 3 hd components (blu-ray player, time warner cable box, and ipod dock) would i need 4 hdmi cables? one for the tv? so my question is does my tv by itself without any components need an hdmi cable?

Answer
Hello Darrin,
Yes you do.
HDMI is a HD Multimedia Interface. This connection carries HD video and HD audio.
You will connect Blue Ray and Cable Box Using HDMI.
ipod is not a HDMI device and needs to be connected using RCA cables if u want to listen to ipod using TV speakers.
Thanks

Any question regarding Home Theater Systems. What to buy? How to do the hookup and troubleshoot. (Only surround sound hook up) Please note that I am not a technician. I do not do projectors. When sending me questions, please make sure you provide me with as much information on your equipment as possible. I would like to know on each equipment you are connecting, if you have HDMI, Optical and or Digital Coaxial ports and how many. Do not forget to include make and model of your equipment......Thanks
