Home Theater - Stereo receiver hook up with HDMI

Question
I have hdmi cable connecting comcast to receiver and blue ray to receiver.  Then hdmi from receiver to TV.  Works great however, I have to have the receiver on to watch general TV.  I would like to only have to turn on the receiver when I watch a movie or need the surround sound.  Is that possible with my receiver or do I need a different one?
Thanks
Receiver-Yamaha rx-v365
TV- Sony XBR-9
Blue Ray- Sony BDP-S560

Answer
Hello Larry,
You need to re-do the connection
THE HDMI from comcast receiver you have connected to receiver should be removed and connected to TV HDMI IN.
Then connect audio out from the Comcast and connect it to the receiver's TV audio in.
Audio out could be an optical or a co-axial digital (orange plug).
Thanks
