Question
I was playing some cd's and I noticed the music stopped, when I looked at the receiver it said "PROTECT" on the screen. I turned it off and turned it back on , the music started but after a few seconds it said "PROTECT" again. it is an older unit and I don't have instructions on it as it was my son's originally. Thank you
Answer
The system is going into clipping protection, as the result of overheating or similar, generally the suggestion is to turn the volume down to a more appropriate level, or move the unit to a less confined space so it isn't as likely to overheat.
