Home Theater - home theater connection

Expert: M A Khan - 11/10/2009

Question
Hello.  I need advice on the proper way to connect: (1) HD cable box with coaxial in/HDMI output; (2) Denon home theater system HDT590BA with 3 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output; (3) Panasonic DVD/VCR combo (player only- no dvd record capability)with HDMI output; (4) an older 5-disc cd/dvd player with no HDMI.  I plan to run this to a new Mitsubishi HD television that has 4 HDMI ports on the back.  I'm hoping this will not be too complicated. Thanks much for your help.  Lew

Answer
Hello Lew, Please connect HDMI out of your Denon to TV HDMI in.
Then connect HDMI's of cable box and DVD/VCR to Denon HDMI IN.
Then connect your CD/DVD player's audio out to Denon using Optical cable. Connect it to DVD audio in.
Then connect video to Denon'd DVD Video in.
Thanks.
