Home Theater - wire quality

Expert: Bobbert - 11/2/2009

Question
i was wonder if the thickness of an hdmi cable affect video quality and if the thickness of a fiber optic cable affect sound quality. for example the monster hdmi cable compared to a regular one, and the thx fiber optic cable compared to a regular one

Answer
No, this has nothing to do with the quality of the cable, and generally only influences the price, audio/video quality via HDMI is going to be fairly consistent across all devices, more or less regardless of cable used, and audio quality via TOSlink cable will be identical regardless of cable type (be it glass or plastic).
