Question
My friend has a 2000 Honda Accord and a 2006 Honda Odyssey Van.
THe dealership told him that it was OK to ocassionally tow a small trailer with the Accord-- but NOT to tow anything with the Odyssey van.

WE do not understand this.
Can you please explain why this is?

Answer
Hi Mike,

Once in a while, you run into folks who does not seem to know what they are talking about. It is difficult not to take "dealership" statements seriously, but unless they can show me where it states that in their brochures and catalogs or owners manual, I take it with a grain of salt.

A car with a 3.5 liter V-6, 240 hp, and a towing rating of 3500lbs.

I'll ask a certified Honda Mechanic before I ask a car dealer about anything, but to clarify, what the "dealership" said is false.
