About Bill Sachs Expertise I am a backyard mechanic working on several Honda Accords. I have worked on `87, `89, and two `00 Accords. I have been working on Accords since 1993.
Experience I have experience in electrical, basic mechanical and maintenance. I have kept two Accords alive for over 230,000 miles ('87 & '89).
I also own two 2000 Accords and a 1995 Integra along with a 1993 Toyota Corolla. I do a lot of the work and all the maintenance on these cars.
Question My Honda is a 1997 Civic EX and the SRS light only, stays on all the time with the KOEO. Using the SRS/ABS diagnostic connector I determined the following DTC's. Can you give the DTC descriptions?
For the SRS the light flashed:
5 long
3 long
5 short
Then stayed on
The ABS light flashes codes also. For the ABS the light flashed:
1 long, 6 short
1 long, 8 short
9 long
Then repeats the same sequence continually.

Based on the ABS flashes you have a code 16 and a code 18. The 16 indicates front left wheel sensor electrical noise or an intermittent interruption. The 18 indicates rear left wheel sensor electrical noise or an intermittent interruption. I am puzzled by the nine long at the end as there is not a code for a single digit, only two digit codes.
