Subject: 87 honda accord water leak

Question
I have water pouring out from the timing belt cover. water pump has been replaced and is dry. removed upper timing cover and don't see water from head. is there a freeze plug behind the timing belt cover?

Answer
There is a water/coolant transfer pipe with a rather big o-ring on it that fits right behind the water pump. That is a very common problem on that particular body style of the Accord.
That o-ring will leak if it is worn.
Also check for rusted spots on the water/coolant transfer pipe.
I have seen those pipes with a hole in them that the coolant pours out from.
