Subject: Central Lock & alarm

Question
Hi, I own a 1997 Honda CR-V. it has got a VIPER central locking & alarm system. in this winter, it is not working properly. the alarm & beep completely stopped working & even the central locking works seldom. i changed the batteries in the remote but do not know whether there anr any separate battery i need to replace in the system installed in the car. Please advice.

Answer
For any after market accessories installed on the vehicle it would be best to consult the installing establishment &/or an alarm system expert.
However, the factory central locking system operation should be separate from the alarm system operation, but it really depends on how they tapped into the factory system.
