Question
The brake pads on the front driver's side of the car are wearing out after 6
months while the front passenger's side pads have little wear. I've noticed that
the front driver's side disc gets very hot after driving while the passenger's side
does not. Also the ABS light is on in the car. I replaced the front driver's side
disc and caliper last spring. What could be wrong?

Answer
It sounds like you have a front caliper that is in a bind. The caliper has to be able to slide side to side on the upper & lower caliper pins. The easiest thing to do is pull the caliper off & take both pins & make sure they are lubricated with grease. The pin with the rubber bushing on the end goes on the top. Make sure the caliper can slide freely on both caliper pins before you reassemble it.
