Honda Repair - Speedometer quit working on my 1998 Honda Accord

Expert: Matthew Day - 1/7/2009

Question
Where can I find the VSS on a 1998 Honda Accord Ex 4cyl 5 speed Tranny. Im
assuming this is going to be the bad culprit since my speedometer just quit
working on me the other day. Ive been reading some of the threads on this issue
and they all mention the VSS as the problem but I cannot locate it.  If Im wrong
about this , would you please direct me in the right direction. Thank you for any
help you can assist with.

Answer
you first need to check the #6 7.5 amp fuse in the driver dash fuse box. The vss is located on the back side of the transmission towards the top. Follow the lower radiator hose into the thermostat housing. Look directly under the thermostat housing & locate the gray 3 pin connector that is sitting on top of the transmission. Good luck
