Honda Repair/ABS Light

Question
I own a 00 Accord CYL and the ABS light is on but went off briefly and now it on constantly. Took it to the dealer and they pulled a code of 531 which he said was a Pump motor shortage but couldn't point out how to fix the problem. He also tried to clear the code but couldn't. How do I fix this?

Thanks

Marcus

Answer
The first thing they need to check is all the fuses. Has your vehicle been in a wreck & had front end damage that was repaired? I looked up your vehicle in Alldata & Alldata doesn't list the code you specify. Alldata is also information taken directly from the manufacturer. So when I look something up on Alldata, it is the same info the dealer uses. ABS codes generally go from DTC 11 - DTC 81. If they tried to reset the code & it came back on right away then that is a hard fault. If it has anything to do with pump motor shortage, then most likely you have an open electrical circuit that has to be tracked down with a wire schematic.
