Honeymoons - Cancun vs hawaii

Question
i have two free plain tickets with my AA miles award, i can fly anywhere In USA or Mexico, i was thinking Cancun or Hawaii, which is better for my honeymoon? or maybe can you recommend another place? i live in El Paso Texas

Answer
Hello Edgar,
AA miles awards will also depend on availability for your specific travel dates, the availabiilty might determine your destination selection.  You will need to check with AA directly for that.  Hawaii and Cancun (Riviera Maya) are both very good choices.  Cancun/Riviera Maya is better suited for an all-inclusive resort honeymoon.  That is, your meals, drinks, snacks, and some activities are included in the price of your resort/accomodation.  In Hawaii, there are no all-inclusive resorts.  If you stay in Oahu you will not need a car rental.  On the other islands (Maui, Big Island, Kauai), you will need a car.  Hawaii tends to be more of a place to explore on your own whereas Cancun and the area, you are spending more of your time at the resort itself enjoying the beach and pool and the resort facilities.  It just depends on budget and what you're looking for in your honeymoon.

Best of luck,
Cindy Grant
