Question Hi we would like to go away for 1 week for our 1st Anniversary (Either the last week of September or the 1st week of October). We already went to Hawaii for 2 weeks on our honeymoon. Can you suggest anywhere romantic but still with several activities, that is also not going to affected by bad weather/hurricaines at that time?
Thanks!
Answer Hi,
Well, that is a very good question because even Hawaii had have bad weather during that time. I would have to say that you could either go to Europe or maybe an Alaskan cruise. There is no way I could suggest anything tropical like the Caribbean or Mexico or even Central American (Costa Rica) because they all have a very, very good chance of running into a storm that brews into a Tropical Depression that ends up as a Hurricane.
You know what I would look into is a Med Cruise, maybe sailing out of Barcelona or somewhere in Italy for 7 nights, then spend a few nights either before or after the cruise in the port city. With the cruises going through the French Riviera to quaint Italian spots, that would be a perfect romantic stroll, take a bottle of wine, crusty bread and go find a location just to sit back, relax and enjoy. You could go with an outside cabin or even a Balcony where each day you could enjoy breakfast on your patio while coming into port.
Now the reason why I suggested a cruise was because you have to only unpack once and your ship acts as the transportation to the various area. Otherwise to see all what they have to offer you are going to be driving or sitting on a bus or train, then packing and unpacking. Allot of hassle. And many of the cruise ships have great deals for September to October sailings because it is towards the end of the season there. That makes it so you don't have a wealth people in the ports too.
You could focus on one city like Paris or do a resort in the south of Spain or a wine country tour. There are allot of options in that area with a better weather system.
I would love to say yes, go to the Caribbean or Mexico but in good faith I cannot. I hope this information helps.
