Honeymoons - Honeymoon ?

Question
We would like to consider the Hawaiian Islands for our honeymoon - however, I am concerned as when we traveled to San Torini - Greek Isles, I came down with what I believe was an allergic reaction to the volcanic ash/atmosphere - something made me sick.  The minute I left the isles, I was fine.  Have you ever heard of anyone becoming sick in this way?  I would hate to have something like this affect me again, especially since Hawaii has lots of volcanoes.
Please advise.  We are looking for somewhere warm - without the threat of hurricanes as our wedding will be in October.  Thank you for your help

Answer
I am sorry but I can't be of much help with the allergy question, as I have never heard of this before, but then again I am not an allergist.  People can be allergic to anything, I myself will get an allergic reaction to the sun and break out in hives after a few days.  I suggest that you contact an allergist in your area and see about getting tested, as it may not be the volcanic ash, but mold or some other airborne item that was making you sick.

As for a honeymoon away from hurricanes, Hawaii and the South Pacific is a good bet, and typically the West coast of Mexico.  However, severe weather can strike anywhere at anytime, so please purchase travel insurance so you have the ability to cancel should you need to.  Travel insurance will also give you during travel protection so if you should have an allergic reaction to something you will be able to seek medical attention and have the insurance cover the cost.  For more information on travel insurance, see the link for Travel Guard on the homepage of our website.

I hope you consider travel insurance as I don't want you to let the threat of severe weather keep you from considering any of the wonderful islands in the Caribbean. You may also want to consider a cruise, as this would give you the tropical destinations and not have to breath the tropical air the whole time you are on your honeymoon.

If you would like help finding the perfect destination that fits your desires, you can email me direct.  I don't charge for my services as I get paid a commission by the resorts when I book your trips, just like all the other online website such as Expedia and Travelocity, except I have been to most of the destinations!

Good luck with your allergy quest!
