Honeymoons - destination wedding

Expert: Cindy Grant - 2/23/2009

Question
Hi!
My fiancee and I have decided on a destination wedding.  I have reseached a little online, but there is so much information!  We definitely want to do either Mexico or the Caribbean.  My sister just got married in Jamaica, and we loved it!  But we don't want to do the same.  Do you have any suggestions on where to get started??  or any reccommendations?  We don't want to spend a ton or have an elaborate affair.  Thanks!
Jennifer

Answer
Hi Jennifer,
My apologies for not answering your question right away.  Where exactly to have your destination wedding depends on a number of factors, including...
-Your budget for your travel and the wedding
-Where you are flying from
-Anticipated number of guests, and whether kids will be attending
-Your guests' budgets and their departure cities

I'd say that some of the best pricing/value is to be found in the Riviera Maya area, where you fly into Cancun (Mexico) and then the resorts would be south of Cancun, around Playa del Carmen.
