My fiance and I are going to be married on the weekend of June 20th, but we need to be back in Los Angeles on the following weekend for another friend's wedding.  Two scenarios for you:

1. We are thinking of doing a short trip from LA between June 21st and June 26th and a longer trip towards the end of the year -- any recommendations for a 4 or 5 day trip.

2. We may decide to just wait until after our friend's wedding to go for our honeymoon and take about a 10 day trip.  We'd like to go some place where the weather is warm (but not uncomfortably hot), and where we can both relax and tour local culture / architecture.

Any suggestions?  Also I'm a tad on the hotel snob side -- I don't need hyper luxury but something between 4 and 5 store would be nice.

Hi Nell,
Let's see...for a shorter trip, I would recommend either Puerto Vallarta (Mexico's Pacific Coast), or Riviera Maya (Mexico's Caribbean Coast).  The Caribbean and Hawaii would be too far to fly for such a short trip.  There are some wonderful 4-5 star resorts in both destinations.

For a longer trip, I would expand the recommendations to include Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, Costa Rica, and the Caribbean (perhaps St. Lucia or Antigua or Jamaica).
