Horror Film/Black Christmas... house?

I can assure you that Hart House is not the place either, it is a student centre, quite a large facility.  I've seen reference to 6 Belmont St as well, but after visiting can assure you that that is not the location either, it is one unit in an older row house complex.  I too would be interested in knowing the location, so hopefully someone will be able to help out.  Cheers.

The official address is 6 Belmont Ave. it was changed for the movie and can still be found on campus.

I'm pretty sure it's Annesley Hall actually.  Though it's part of the University of Toronto, Annesley Hall is an all-girls residence, not an academic building.  I lived there for two years, and although it looks different now than in the movie, I heard that there were renovation done between the movie and present.

FYI, Hart house is not a sorority or a frat house.  Hart House is primarily a theatre and gym facility.  The movie Black Christmas WAS filed at Annesley hall.  I lived at Annesley from 1996 to 1999.  It is an all-women's residence at U of T.  It doesn't look the same on the inside right now as the building was condemned in the 1970s and then renovated in 1988 and reopened.

the house is a private house. in the st.clair and bathurst area (not sure the exact address). it was bought in the 1950's and used as a family home. the home owner got paid for use of the house although I hear he was offered a percentage but didnt take it because canadian movies dont make money (except for this one. !)

closest landmark would be casa loma in toronto.

Annesley Hall student residence was indeed a location in this film, but it was used primarily for interior shots.  Hart House is featured as well, but as an academic building, not as the sorority house.  As for the exterior, it is a family home.

you are right, the house is in forest hill, near st. clair and bathurst, i am just not sure where.  I am positive though as I have it on good authority.

I have also been trying to find out the location of this house. I live in Toronto and there is no way it could be Hart House. Hart House is a huge 3 floor academic building. An old one, mind you but not a house at all.

I live very close to the St. Clair W. and Bathurst area. I can walk around the area and have a look. I can confirm whether or not the "sorority house" is in the area...IF I can spot it. lol! But because of privacy stuff, I probably cannot post the actual address of the building.

On the plus side, we did the Door Open Toronto today and I can assure you the "Hart House" is the same building "Peter the Pianist" was doing his musical exam.

However, I did not see any sorority houses at the U of T.

The house, I believe, is actaully in Clarendon Crescent, near Belmont, and there is a whole featurette about it (then and now) in one of the special features on the "Black Christmas" DVD.

At the time the the feature on the house was made (early 2000's?)the interior, stairs etc., were pretty much the same as they were in '74.

The house is at 6 Clarendon Crescent- between Clarendon and Poplar Plains Road.

It is a private street- but the house is there.

All the scenes in the Great Hall--including Peter's recital--were filmed in Seeley Hall, Trinity College, U of T.  The exterior of the building can be seen in the distance through the arch at the foot of Soldiers' Tower.  Hart House is to the right of the tower in that wintry outdoor scene; University College is to the left.

The house is located just north of Yonge St and Bloor Ave a couple blocks north on Yonge. It is directly beside Casa Loma and is nowhere near the University of Toronto. The police station is at Main and Swanwick east of Danforth Ave.

The house was located on Swanwick Ave. In the movie it showed the location as Main St / Swanwick.
