Question im 4"11 weigh about 120lbs and im 31 years old.my grandpa was a jockey and on the old magazine he was on it ,i dont know if its to late but i would want to get as good as he was.im just wondering if u can give me so me pointers cause i just lost my job, because the econmy bad .so i would really like to get into riding horses.thank you
Answer Miguel,
At 31, you are starting a bit late, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it can't be done, just that it will be far more difficult. I'm hoping that you are already an experienced rider, and if so, I would suggest going to local training stables and asking about exercise rider's jobs. Be up front about your level of experience, and keep trying until you find someone willing to give you a shot. As you gain more experience in galloping, you can move up to breezing, and then start thinking about actually riding races.
Good Luck!,
