Question Hello, I was wondering where is a good place to find a good mare that had a decent career at the track? all I seem to find are rescues. Do i have to go to the track to find one? or do the owners advertise them? All help will be greatly appreciated. Thankyou
Answer Rachel,
You have a couple of options for finding a good broodmare. You can keep track of mares that look interesting to you by signing up for stable mail through www.equineline.com, you can check the classified ads in The BloodHorse Magazine or The Thoroughbred Times, or you can contact a good bloodstock agent and let him or her know what kind of mare you're looking for and in what price range, and let them do the footwork. You will have to pay the agent a commission, but a good agent usually has avenues to find good stock that isn't advertised on the open market.
Good Luck!
