Experience I have been involved in horses for approximately 45 years. I showed hunters, jumpers and stock horses. In the 80's I was licensed as a trainer on the race track. I have run broodmare operations, delivered foals and taught everything from what to feed and which end the shoes go on to advanced jumping. I tend to be impatient with owners who think their horses prefer to be locked up in confined spaces. Even my show and race horses rarely spent more than only the night before an event in a stall...the rest of the time they had room to run. In 1975 I rode a Quarter Horse Stallion and a Thoroughbred Mare solo from Minneapolis to San Francisco.

Question I was wondering if you would be able to tell me what i need to wear and what my horse needs to wear for an ordinary turn out class and also what i would need to wear and my horse would need to wear in a hacking turn out? I know there's a difference but its remembering which goes with which class! thank you!
Also, when I used to show I always obtained a copy of the rules under which the shows I attended were judged. F.E.I., American Horse Show Association, American Quarter Horse Association etc. There will be a finite set of rules for the shows you participate in. If I were you, I would check to see what rules the shows you are interested in are using and invest in buying the most recent rule book.
