Horses/both posting and sitting trotting bareback

hello Lyn. should i do both posting and sitting trotting bareback? my instructor told me to press my thighs tight, post at trot riding bareback. is he correct?

If you can post bareback it's easier on the horse but few people can do it for any length of time.  I alternate when I ride bareback (something I don't do much at my age any more). As far as what your instructor told you he is correct although I post both from my thighs and knees the same way I do in a saddle.
