Experience I have over 20 years experience in the showring, and have broken and schooled on all my own horses. I have schooled on many horses that have been classed as difficult to handle, or dangerous to ride.
These horses havre gone on to be calm, well mannered, and are successful in showing homes, and as happy hackers.
Education/Credentials BHS stage 1 and 2. Experienced in breaking and schooling young horses.
Question i have recently bought a new horse, she is a thoroughbred ex race horse madam moshcatta, war admiral is apparently her grand dad she has excellent blood lines. he last owner had her for 2 years but for a year of that she didn't go near her as the horse reared and threw her owner of! i have been with her for 1 week and we have a bonded greatly, the only thing is shes stubborn and wont do something if she dosent want to, then if i encourage her she rears. i don't ride her yet as the rearing needs to be sorted, i long rein and lunge with two lunge lines. (one on either side) i don't no what to do with her at all wots the best way to deal with it? she is so lovely natured but doesn't have allot of confidence witch is what i think is the problem. i really need some help with this one please give me some tips on how to control this problem and even help me to resolve it. shes not a young horse shes about 10.

Well done on giving this lady a second chance.
I would suggest getting a qualified instructor to help you, and to ask them, about fitting a Chambon to help wth the rearing. A Pessoa lunging system will also help as she will be encouraged to work through her back and loosen up.
A full vet check could also help, as rearing is often a sign of pain, get her teeth and back checked, something could be pinching at her.
A Monty Robert RA would also help, as they would help you both feel more secure in your relationship. She could feel like she is going to be passed on again, and horses tend to take a while to settle, so she could just be testing you to see what you will let her get away with.
