Question I am looking to make a change . I have been doing leadership development for about 17 years. Would like to explore the option of being a Hospital Administrator. There is a accredited school near by. I am 40. would my past experience carry over.
Answer If you are good a change management, your skills may be effective in a hospital setting. Career changing to healthcare administration is difficult without some experience in the field. You should ensure that any program you attend if fully accredited and lined to the Association of University Programs in Healthcare Administration (www.aupha.org) link to accredited programs. Various non traditional programs are excellent for those who have some experience in the field, a professional network but just need the formal degree and coursework to validate experiences. The AUPHA programs are at a higher level and will provide experience and networking opportunities.
