House Plants - house plant

Expert: Darlene K. Kittle - 11/4/2009

Question
I was given a house plant as a gift about a month ago but don't know how to care for it.  It looks as though the pot consists of 3 separate plants.  The stem is brown and the leaves are long, narrow pointed on the end and a reddish color lining the outside of the leaf.  Please help me figure out what type of plant I have so I can keep it alive.  It really looks great in my living room.

Answer
Anna,

I am sorry, you will have to send me a picture for me to identify it for certain. I think it may be in the philodendron family. You can go to google put philodendron in and click on images and see if any match your plant. Otherwise email me a picture and I will identify it.
