House Plants/Hibiscus

Question
My hibiscus survived the winter and I put it outside this summer and it is
starting new growth but now many of the leaves are yellowing and falling off.
What am I doing wrong?

Answer
Dear Marge,

The most likely reasons are

1] not enough water - the compost should be kept moist during spring and summer.  If the plant does dry out then give it a good soaking.

2] too much midday summer sunlight

3] shock at finding itself in the fresh air although if it is in a partially shaded place it should soon right itself.

Hope the above helps you.
