Subject: Planting A Peach Seed
Question You wanted to know where i live. Dunn, NC. Here is what i can tell you, about 100ft/yds from our house there is a ditch of which a few watermelons grew. About maybe 50ft/yds from our house our neighbor has 2 regular trees growing in his yards, which i think were there before he moved in. Is the growing of a regular tree any different than growing of a peach tree. What is the best time to grow regular flowers. My neighbor has some flowers growing near the end of her dirt drive, and they don't seem to be all that well. I think my mom called them morning bloom flowers or something with the word in it, because they only bloomed in the morning. Did she forget to add something to help them grown, would had adding special plotting soil had helped and if so, what kind do you recommend.

Sorry i sent this outdoor gardening question to you, but i couldn't find really anyone that i could ask, because there wasn't anyone under the categories that i chose.

Sherman,
In addition to what I already wrote below. You only need a hole about 3-4 inches deep. Once it sprouts the roots will pulll it to the depth they want it. Good luck.

If you are planting your peach seed in the ground outside make sure you plant it in a sunny location then I reccommend that you water it when you plant it. Then water it at least once a week until it is at least a foot tall. You can skip watering it on weeks that it rains at least one inch. You can stop watering it when winter comes and it drops it's leaves. Where do you live? What state? It my not even sprout till spring if you live in the northern states. Do not fertilize it till spring. Be sure to mark the location where you planted it especially if it doesn't sprout till spring.
The following site has good information on growig fruit trees from seed:

If you have questions after reading that please write again. Good luck.

Answer Sherman,
I'm not sure what you mean by regular trees, there are many varieties of trees, elms, maples, oaks etc. By regular trees I assume you are talking about some type of shade tree. Gorwing a peach tree is about the same as growing any other tree. They do not need a lot of care except when they are very young if it is a dry year they need watered regularly and some fertilizer. You should know that the tree that grows from the peach pit you have may not produce a tree eexactly like the tree the peach came off of. The peach had a mother tree and a father tree and the tree that grows from the peach pit may not be the same as either. Just like you are not like either of your parents.
Spring is the best time of year to plant flowers. Your neighbors flowers sound like morning glories. They are an annual flower that comes up every year from seeds. This time of year most annuals are deteriorating because they have already produced seed for next years plants so they are done. They also may not have been watered or fertilized and that may also be why they are begining to look bad.
If you have more questions please let me know how old you are so I will know better what I need to explain further.
