Question I have a purple passion plant that has become very sringy. It only has 2 stems that are 7-8 ins, not a big plant I would like to know how to get the cutting from it (going to cut to make it bushy again)
and do you know anything on spider plants and growing them from seeds..my plant has a lot of seeds but they never grow when i plant them.
Answer Hi Brenda,
From your purple passion plant take cuttings that have 3 sets of leaves. Strip of the lowest pair of leaves and root the cuttings in water. Roots will grow from where the leaves you stripped off were attached. After the roots are an inch or more long, then make pencil holes in the soil of the original plant and insert the cuttings.
Because spider plants are usually hybrids and because they need cross-pollination, the seeds they produce as indoor plants do not usually germinate. It is best to propagate spider plants by rooting the spider babies in water or in damp soil.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
