Plants don't remove cigarette smoke.  They do remove SOME of the many molds always present, but not enough for visable problems etc.

Go to this site and to anything by Bill Wolverton, a new book will be out in DEC, an old one is avail now.

close your doors and windows where smoke enters, or if not practical, put a fan in door or window blowing out where smoke drifts in and leave open window not near smoke.  If bad, use an air purifier etc. - HEPA high rating. On central air/heat use filtrete 3m filter rating 1250, expensive, but so are bad lungs. I'm also going to start wearing a respirator mask until I get moldly stuff cleaned out of here and get moved out so someone can clean this house and I can sell it.
