House Plants/pruning my dracaena cragii

My dracaena cragii getting too tall for my ceiling.  I am wanting to prune it but don't want to harm it.  Could you explain where I should cut it and how?  thank you!

Hi Jillian,

Basically, you can cut a Janet Craig stem at just about any point. Keep in mind that new growth will come in just below the cut and grow straight up from there. It will not branch out. So if you want it to have lots of room to grwo, rthen cut it pretty low.

Also, cut the stem just above the point where a leaf attaches to the stem. This is for aesthetic reasons so that an ugly stub is not visible.

The cut-of portion can be rooted in the base of the existing plant, in its own pot, or in water.
