Question -
I bought a couple of large yukka trees from an auction in july, and until a couple of months ago they were fine, now the lower leaves are very droopy and turned a very pale green, mostly yellow and I think they are dying. I pulled the dead leaves off originally, but if I keep doing that I will have no plant left. Could it be due to the central heating? The plants are by the window and I water them when they dry out, about twice a week. I hope you can help as I love these trees, and they don't look well.
thankyou

Shelley,
How tall are your yucca plants? What direction does the window face ? How often do you water them? Let me know and I will answer your questions.
Darlene
One is about 7 foot, and the other about 3 foot. one is facing north and one is facing south, i water them twice a week, when they do not have any water left.
Answer Shelley,
These are dessert plants. They like sun and dry. Stop watering immediately and do not water for at least 2 weeks then only water when the soil feeels bone dry and the plant is light weight. In the summer they can go outdoors but need to go into a semi shady location so they don't get sunburned. Pull off the lower withered leaves and if they get plenty of sun they will grow more new green leaves. Good luck.
