Human Resources/Designation

Question
I have 4 years of work experience in the Middle east banking field including  back-office operations & planning. Now, I have taken up a job in a educational institution where I will be handling accounts & hr. Ideally, what should my designation be?

Answer
Dear Pooja
Designation depends on the kind of responsibility that a person has as well as the designation philosophy/ practice that the organization has. For example, if the role is at a middle management level, the designation could be Manager Accounts & HR. However, different organizations give different designations. For example some banks may call that responsibility level as AVP - Accounts & HR.

Hope you see the point. Do share what are the designations at your institute for similar roles and I will be able to respond better. Also, please share what has prompted you to ask this question. Is it that the institute has given you a choice of designation or you want to check if the designation being offered to you is in line with the market. Do share. Look forward to your response.
