I have helped my son, and son in law, as well as a number of others in this area, to get started in trapping and predator calling... I have had personal instruction from professional government ADC specialists, and I have 30 years experience running my own traplines, and over a half century of experience in the outdoors...... I have a friend who is a troop leader with the Boy Scouts. I have done several demonstrations on trapping and predator calling for the boys, and on a number of occasions have helped the troop to set up and run a trapline during the winter, with proceeds going to the troop.
Question what is the best bait to attract cougars that is fast and simply made?

I have to apologize that I am not able to help you with this question. I have never specifically made sets for cougars. They have always been illegal to take in the areas I have trapped...and altho I have called cougars in when predator calling on several occasions, I have never trapped one, nor have I attempted to bait one for hunting. And so, not having had any personal experience in this matter, I will not presume to offer advice on it... There are other people here who specialize in hunting large game animals, and they could probably offer you much more advice as to what makes a good bait for cougar than I could.... I'm sorry that I was not able to help you.
