Question
My shotgun since brand new has never properly cycled 3" shells any brand any load. I believe it is a complete peice of #@$% this gun has let me doen so many times I quit shooting it. Have others had this problem and if so what fixed it??? I really like the way it handles but one shot sucks. Any suggestions??  PS when I added shims to the recoil sprong it worked for one duck hunt then returned to its bad ways!!!!f6u3v

Answer
I believe I have that same shotgun, only it wasn't called the Pintail when I bought it.  It uses the same recoil (not gas) recycle as the Benelli Super 90, right?

If so, it is sensitive to the breech being clean.  I'm especially thinking of the area in the chamber where the brass part of the shell sits.  There's a wax on some shells, and it builds up in there.  If that happens the shells tend to stick and don't eject properly.  Give it a complete scrubbing with some solvent and a small toothbrush, the entire chamber where the shell sits in front of the bore.  If that doesn't work, take it to a gunsmith.  Maybe the spring isn't strong enough or something.  Seems like the problem mainly occurred for me towards the end of the duck season, when it was around 5 degrees and the chamber hadn't been cleaned all season.

Good luck!
