About Marcus Doyle Expertise Questions about the general breed and temperament of Siberian Huskies. Also, I have had great experience in training them to be, well, a little less crazy. Nothing is a substitute for good research and training, but Husky owners are a special breed, and I can help in passing along some of that information.
I do not breed my dogs, they are just companion animals. I encourage that breeding be left to professionals and members of the SHCA. The SHCA can provide great information in helping fellow breeders and I am unable to answer all but the most basic of questions regarding breeding.
Experience Own two pure-bred Siberian Huskies (Karnovanda). Casual owner, but a love and understanding of the breed can be helpful in getting to the right resources.
Question Me and My boyfriend have had our puppy Koda since she was almost 8 weeks old.. and since then she has updated shots and had three dewormings already but we feel she is still very tiny?? at 11 weeks she weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces... is that to small.. i think she may be at least 10 now~~at 12 weeks but whats the ideal weight for a 12 week old female husky??? I feed her Natural choice puppy food 1/2 cup and 1/2 can purina pro plan wet food..
Answer She sounds a little small, but well within the norm. Keep in mind that an adult Siberian female should weigh only between 35-50 lbs. They are a much smaller breed than many people think of, so at 3 months, she's probably a third of the way to her adult weight, which sounds like she'll be on the small side of Siberian females, but normal.
