Answer You probably should obtain some additional blood pressure readings before you consider yourself as having hypertension. How you take your blood pressure can influence the results. For example, recent exercise, stress, or poor sleep can all influence the blood pressure. The more readings the better before the diagnosis of hypertension is assigned to you.
