Question Dear Doctor
I am a diabetic,my age 65 years and worried about my blood pressure. My FBs is 108,PP is 126 and HB A1C is 6.6.I am taking Metformin SR 500,Glimipiride 2 mg (one each morning and night),Fenolip 160 mg 0-0-1 for TGL 254.My total Chol is 156,HDL 26,LDl 77 and Vldl 53.
For Hypertension i was taking Losartan H 50mg and Amlodpine 2.5 mg. As my BP was out of normal range( 154/90),my doctor has changed my medicine to Losartan 50 mg morning one tab and Amlodipine 5 mg at 8 pm daily. My Bp is still not coming to normal level although i dont have any major heart problem. When my Bp goes up,i feel a sort of headache and gastric discomfort.Doctor, will you please guide me
and suggest any change in the treatment regime. I have Omron Digital meter at home and check my BP with my family physian once every 10 days.
Thanking you

Answer Hi P S Naik,
Well, clearly your pressure is still not controlled. First you might try increasing the Amlodipine to 10 mg at night. If that doesn’t work then you may need to add another medicine to help control it. Before making any changes, discuss them with your doctor.
