Hypertension - blood pressure

Expert: Dr. Shabbir Baldiwala - 7/12/2009

Question
I know the normal blood pressure is less than 120/80.  I know that blood pressure goes up during excersise and activity.  What is a normal range in blood pressure during excersise?

Answer
During exercise or any other physical activity, the blood pressure goes up significantly. There are no guidelines available for that. However, for all practical purposes, anything over 180 systolic could be termed as a hypertensive response to exercise.
