I have read a lot of success stories about people growing taller with hypnosis. I too would like to alter my "body". See, i was born with a cleft lip. I have received several surgeries to correct it, and I look good and normal now. But it is still visible and it still bugs me. The first, most obvious thing to change would be the cleft scar.
What are your thoughts on this? Would it be possible/have you experienced or come across cases where people have successfully changed a physical part of their body, such as healing a scar?
About 6 months ago, I actually tried growing taller with hypnosis. Initially I definitely felt something going on in my legs, but I quit pretty early on, 'cause I don't desire it that much. Only reason I did it, was because I thought that I would begin with growing taller, training my "mind control ability", and then move on the "harder" stuff such as healing a scar. I realize now though, that this might all just be in my head and that healing a scar is just as difficult/easy as growing taller.
Anyways, I would like to hear you thoughts on this, and if you think that I should take this further, or forget everything about it.
Regards
Answer Hello Phillip -
Thanks for your question.
I've got a couple answers for you and hope that I can encourage you to continue to pursue hypnosis as a healing modality.
I've heard about people growing taller with hypnosis ... but not seen any reputable studies on the matter. There is a report of one man who Milton Erickson helped to grow 12 inches in one year. But I haven't even been able to find any substantiation of that one. There are a lot of hypnotists who claim that it's possible ... but none who aren't trying to sell you a tape or CD or program of some kind. And none who are properly trained in scientific inquiry and NO proper research. Now, that's the bad news. And I say it because there are plenty of snake oil salesman disguising themselves as healers, and their misleading of vulnerable people is criminal. I would not want you to be taken advantage of by such charlatans. I'd hate for you to have your hopes disappointed by the testimonials of greedy men and women who have no real evidence to offer.
Having said that ... and at the risk of contradicting myself ... I believe that the unconscious mind can do many miraculous things and have seen it's healing work in countless unexplainable cases. The power of belief if profound and the role of the mind in healing is undeniable. I would encourage you to develop your skills in hypnosis and build a strong relationship with your unconscious mind ... "working your way up" as you suggested seems like a reasonable approach and ANY progress you make at harnessing the power of your unconscious will be rewarding.
