What materials, or suggestions, (no pun) do you offer someone who wants to effectively hypnotise himself?
Bonus question...? Can self hypnosis be used to facilitate a deep meditation state?
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Answer Hi Mike -
There are a number of ways to learn self hypnosis ....
The one that I regularly teach cleints and students is described on my website and can be accessed here:
www.phoenix-services.org/betty.htm
Then of course, there are a variety of books and videos available ... my favorite is "Self Hypnosis : The Complete Manual for Health and Self Change" by Alman and Lambrou .. it has LOTS of approaches and something it that will work for everyone. You can also find it here (via amazon):
However, the BEST way to learn self hypnosis is to go to a hypnotherapist and receive instruction. No two people are a like and a qualified professional will be able to help you go into hypnosis and to establish a personal regimine that will work for you.
AS I see it meditation IS a deep hypnotic state .... or maybe hypnosis is a deep meditation .... or to make it simpler, BOTH are altered states of consciousness ..... gaining skill with either will enhance your abilities with the other.
