Question how do u find a good boook or therapist
for hypnosis
Answer Hi Laura -
MY favorite way to find good books is to hang out at Borders or Barnes and Nobles (if you have those or someplace similar) where you can get a cup of coffee or tea and "sample read" as many things as you can find on the shelves. I always find something useful there.
Specifically about Self Hypnosis, my favorite book is by Alman and Lambrou and is called "Self Hypnosis" The Complete Manual for Health and Self Change" you can see it and other hypnosis books that I would reccommend on my website at http://www.phoenix-services.org/books.htm
As far as finding a good therapist .... if you can get a referral from someone who has had a good experience, that would be ideal. Of course you can always check the yellow pages ... but make sure the hypnotist you find there has some real training and is a member of a professional association. Are they full time? Worked for several years in hypnosis? (Don't you use a similar tactic to choose a doctor or therapist? or even a plumber?)
Another good source for information about local hypnotherapists might be a new age store ... as hypnosis is a holistic practice you can often find information, advertising or even someone who is "in the know" about such things to advise you. And, if it's a new age book store, they might even have some reccommendations of books for you as well.
