Question Hi,
I am very interested in becoming a hypnotherapist specializing in anxiety and stress management, addiction management and pain management. I do not want to get into past life regression, alien abduction or satanic abuse...that sort of thing. I envision my practice as a complimentary addition to a person's treatment from a physician.
My questions are these: I have no formal medical training and no college degrees. How much education do I need and how do I find a reputable school?
Is there an organization I need to join?
I am shooting for a take-home salary of $35,000 by my 5th year in practice, is that reasonable?
Thank you for any help you can give me, I realize this is not your standard question. Diana
Answer The National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH)- (http://www.ngh.net/international.html) is the foremost organization inre to hypnosis. Depending on where you reside would depend on what training school to attend. No formal education is required, but if distance is not a problem I would highly recommend The Omni Hypnosis School in Deland, Florida, it is the best. Once you are trained you qualify for membership in the NGH.(http://www.omnihypnosis.com/). If in the Massachusetts area we provide training and certification also.(success@southcoasthypnosis.com.) I am a graduate of Omni Hypnosis and participated in many of their other programs.
