Hyundai Repair - 03 hyundai Elantra Oxygen Sensor

Expert: HT - 6/21/2007

Question
I noticed that my car runs rough when cold, few days later a check engine light came on. I scanned it and came up with error code "P0032 HO2S Bank 1 Sensor 1 Heater Circuit High". From what I've gathered so far it is Oxygen Sensor trouble.  My questions are

1) Which sensor is it (intake or exhaust)

2) Where is that sensor located

3) Is there anything else I have to check before repalacing sensor

Thanks For Your Help

Answer
1.  All oxygen sensors are located in the exhaust.
2.  The sensor in question (sensor 1) is the upstream sensor and will be in the exhaust manifold on the transmission side.
3.  It would be prudent to check the wiring going to the sensor to be sure it's in good condition.  Rarely does this code occur that the problem isn't the sensor itself, so involved circuit checking will probably uncover no issues.
