Answer
Terry, i signed up on this website as an auto paint expert.  Sorry this question is way out of my league. From where i sit, going to BestBuy and have them replace stero sounds most economical way out, however it does sound like you have a wire disconnected or something disconnected, maybe even a ground or second ground.  I just bought a used service manual(three books) from hyundai engineering library for my tiburon. $120.00.  I found it on a grueling internet search. Your local hyundai dealer has a source for you to purchase expensive manuals also. Last time i tried to fix a similar problem you are talking about, i hooked up two wrong wires on a real, real expensive Alpine and blew the whole stereo. It was sickening. Since then i trust BestBuy with lottsa my electronics. Joe
