ICU/Critical Care/effects from a barb coma

I went in for a c6-c7 fusion on Nov. 4th 2010 and woke up 2 wks later. I had gotten pneumonia while being under. I am different since I woke, I can't finish a thought, budget my bills, have done things I would have never done before and people have said that I don't act like me as a mother and wife, I act like a teenager. My memory is shit! I think my feelings towards my daughter has changed.

Dear Michelle,

Although you do not remember it consciously, subconsciously you brain and body remembers the trauma you went through while being in the coma. I recommend you see a therapist who specializes in Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Things will work themselves out, but it will take some work with the therapist. Wishing you a quick recovery.
