Subject: Static in Headphone

Question
We are having a static problem our call centre in the night shift we get a sound distortion in the headphone due to which we are not able to hear any thing & in the Day time we don't get any static at the same place please suggest want can be the reason.

Answer
To better help you, I need to know a few more details:

1. Are the telephones traditional TDM units or are you using IP based telephones (i.e. VoIP)?

2. Are the headsets connected wirelessly or with wire cables?

3. Are the headsets from a different vendor as your phones or were they approved for use on your phone system.

4. Do the rooms or cubicles where the agents work, have lights on at night and off during the day?

5. Can you describe the sound distortion a little more please? Is it really static or do you hear word clipping, echo, chirp, etc?

Thanks.
