Question
Hello sir,

Did INDIA build GPS communication system on its own sir???

Yesterday in HINDU I read an article."If INDIA masters the AESA radar technology it would be a milestone achievement comparable to sending a man to space or building a GPS communication system".This is an excerpt from the article.

Answer
Hi Vijay,
GPS System has three Segments: Space Segment, Control Segment and User Segment. In India the design of only the user segment is undertaken. The remaining two segments are purely in the hands of DoD of USA and they give the segments for limited use by other countries. So the Hindu news is only for the matter of economics. anyway none of the three Technologies mentioned in the article are fully developed in India and mostly in Experimental stages.
