Identifying Unknown Plants/unkown plant

unknown plant
Hi, I bought a packet of seeds and as it turned out this is the only one that grew.  I've seen it before but I don't remember what it is called.  Can you help please?

Hi Cheryl,
It's common name is Balsam (impatiens balsamina).  It's an old, victorian garden plant.  It's related to impatiens walleriana, the wild jewelweed (i. capensis), New Guinea impatiens, etc.  It had several uses in folk medicine and recent studies show there is some basis.  It's common name of "touch me not" comes from the way that the seed pods explode to distribute their seed.

I can identify most weeds, ornamentals, and wild plants by description or photo. If it is completely unknown to me, I can usually type info into a botanical search engine and find it. I am familiar with unusual plants from all over the world.

Thirty-five years of research and experience in horticulture.

You already have that information. I'm just listing myself in a new catagory.
