Question
Yellow Shrub
Yellow Shrub
I am in Provence France this autumn and see a profusion of shrubs with bright yellow berries and dark green foliage. I'd like to know what they are.

Pyracantha
Pyracantha
Hi Paul,

I can't see the leaves that well in this picture, but I think we can figure it out, anyway.  I'm attaching photos of my first 2 guesses - "Davis Gold" Heteromeles, and yellow berried pyracantha.  The Pyracantha will have thorns.
There is also a yellow berried american holly, which will have typical holly leaves with sharp points.  Duranta repens has yellow berries, but usually still has a few blue flowers with them, and they form on a short string.  If it's none of these, get back to me.
Thanks,
Susan
