About Diane
Expertise
I am well versed in all aspects of the care and keeping of green iguanas. This includes all husbandry issues pertaining to the Green Iguana. I am not a vet so I cannot answer medical questions, other than ideas for normal supplementation, removing stuck shed, dropped tail and mites and other general health questions

Experience
I own 3 green iguanas, two of which are rescues. I've had my Iguanas for 7 years. I own a yahoo group dedicated to raising healthy iguanas. I've rescued and rehabbed several young iguanas and have placed them in wonderful forever homes. I prefer taking in the "hard cases" that need critical care.

Organizations
Scales and Tails Exotic Pet Rescue (one of the founding members)

Publications
One of the Co Authors of the Book "The Iguana Dens Care and Keeping of Giant Green Iguanas"

Education/Credentials
I was a vet tech for a small animal practice for 6 years.

Past/Present clients
I own a yahoo group dedicated to raising healthy iguanas.(babyiguana) I have answered several Iguana questions on the "reptile" forum on here.

Question
we have two lizards in a bedroom, they have the whole room.  We have two lights going at all times until about 8pm.  The lights are from the pet store from the iguana isle.  We feed them lots of green stuff(mustard greens, collard) smashed up strawberries, green beans and bananas.  She is not using her left arm and her toes will twitch. She won't really move unless she has to.  We also spray them with water and put calcium on there food every other day, help.  I wrote you a little earlier today.

Answer
Hi Lisa,
You don't mention the exact brand of light you are using, but I am guessing its not uvb..but only a heat light. If its a screw in bulb that is labeled as "BASKING"  then there is no uvb at all.  Please see the section on lighting that I sent in the caresheet in my previous reply.
Your ig sounds like it is most likely showing signs of Metabolic Bone disease...again, I do suggest the vet so she can be x rayed to confirm the MBD...and to also check for eggs, as when they are forming eggs, they will draw even more calcium from their bodies to form the eggs.
Glad to hear you are feeding greens! As I said, earlier, regardless of how much calcium they receive in their diet, without the proper uvb, they can't process any of it.
